Moisturizer stays in the market because people need moisturizer.  Having dry skin is not just easy to treat, it needs a moisturizer to stay the moisture in the skin.

It’s a routine that we need to apply moisturizer to our skin to maintain the softness and young looking. Dry skin is one of the problems of our skin it appears because of lack amount of water in the body. Dry skin needs nourishment to maintain the soft, smooth texture of the skin.

  • Medication. Taking medication can also cause dry skin. Like high blood pressure, acne, and other skin condition. Skin condition like eczema and psoriasis are usually treated with medication.
  • Using different products. Applying different moisturizer will remove natural oil from the skin.
  • Dry Air. Dry air may cause dry skin, if the air outside is dry the possibilities are that the water in the skin evaporates.
  • A long shower with hot water can cause dry skin. Staying in a hot shower for too long can cause the skin very dry because it removes the natural moisturizing ability of the skin surface cells. Using too much soap in a long shower can remove protective lipids and damage skin protein.
  • Do not use alcohol, fragrance, retinoids, and high level of alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) products because it will lessen the natural oil of the skin.
  • Drinking and smoking affect the skin and cause the skin from dryness. Long term of smoking can dry skin and cause aging skin. Cigarettes further dry your skin and dehydrate you. Smoking can cause an acceleration of the aging process in the skin.

  2. Use mild moisturizer and facial cleanser to your skin. Apply moisturizer after washing or cleansing. Ointment creams and lotion work to moisture the skin. The ointment that contains oil such as olive oil or jojoba oil.
  3.  Look for a moisturizer or ointment that has olive oil. Or with the ingredients that have lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, dimethicone, glycerin, mineral oil, and petrolatum. Olive oil helps the skin damage it nourish the skin.
  4. Nourish dry skin. When you feel your skin is dried out and rough find a moisturizer and look for the product that contains nutrient to help restore dry skin.
  5. Get enough water. Drinking enough water will help to avoid dry skin. So make sure you constantly drink at least 6 to 8 glass of water every day to keep your body and skin hydrated.
  6. Avoid using strong detergents and softener so that the skin will not suffer from dryness. Do not use antibacterial gel which contains alcohol.

Natural ways to Get Rid Dry Skin

  • Avocado can penetrate deep into the skin and help to soften and hydrate the skin. It also reduces wrinkles and treats sunburns. It also soothes and nourishes dry facial skin. Avocado repair damaged skin and parched hair. Avocado is rich in vitamins, protein, copper, fiber, and monounsaturated fats that good for the body. Apply avocado paste to your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash it with warm water and pat it dry.

  • Banana, yogurt, and honey. It promotes good blood circulation due to the honey deep penetration. Yogurt frees the skin from old cells, while banana nourishes the face of the skin.   • Milk Cream. Using milk can help get rid of the dry and itchy skin. It also helps to exfoliate dry skin. There are many kinds of milk like raw milk, pasteurized milk, full cream milk, reduced fat milk, skimmed milk, flavored milk, calcium enriched milk, and lactose-free milk. Milk has many benefits: it keeps bones healthy, help weight loss, best source of calcium, act as food supplement, improve hydration, improve complexion, excellent cleanser, shrink pores, remove dead cell, smooth skin, treat sunburns good moisturizer, and milk can help radiant skin.
